The journey, fig. 02

Rooted in community.

At Oasis Orthodontics, we believe a beautiful smile is more than straight teeth. It reflects confidence, self-esteem, and overall well-being.

Since 1997, we have been serving the Fleming Island community, creating personalized smiles that last a lifetime. What started as Aiosa & Hoffman Orthodontics has grown into one of Clay County’s most respected practices, now continuing as Oasis Orthodontics under the leadership of Dr. Derek Hoffman and Dr. Samantha Montoya.

Over the years we have had the privilege of transforming countless smiles, from children taking their first steps toward a confident grin, to adults rediscovering the joy of a beautiful smile. We are honored to be part of so many families.

Our mission stays the same
“World-class orthodontic care rooted in genuine relationships, delivered to three generations of the same Clay County families.”- continuing the standard set by Dr. Lori Aiosa in 1997

The practice changed names in 2026, but the address and the standard of care have not. Dr. Lori Aiosa, who opened these doors as Aiosa & Hoffman Orthodontics in 1997, is now semi-retired and continues to see her existing patients here.

Dr. Lori Aiosa
Why a specialist, fig. 04

Orthodontic specialist.

Both of our doctors completed an additional three-year, full-time, university residency in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics in addition to dental school. That difference matters.

In Florida, any licensed dentist can offer braces or aligners. A specialist orthodontist has completed a full-time residency accredited by the American Dental Association in moving teeth and guiding jaw growth. Dr. Hoffman trained at the University of Florida; Dr. Montoya trained at UF as well, and is board-certified by the American Board of Orthodontists.

For routine teen cases, results from either path can be similar. For complex bite work, surgical planning, severe crowding, growth-modification cases in children, and adult treatment after years of wear, residency-trained specialists tend to plan and execute these cases more predictably. The difference is most visible in the cases that do not go to plan, which is the moment the depth of training shows.

We don’t want to be your orthodontist for now. We want to be the practice your kids remember when their kids need braces.
